And here are a few words about the design itself from its author.

My name is Francesca Castiglione and I am an Italian designer, babywearing consultant and mum of two children, Riccardo, 5, and Sofia, 2. During the difficult days caused by CoViD, the "Arcobaleno della Speranza" (Rainbow of Hope) mandala was born in my mind. In the bad moments drawing has always helped me to discharge the tension: this design is made of all the emotions I felt during the lockdown. In the centre there is the lotus flower, a very important symbol: for Buddhism it is the immaculate flower that comes from muddy water and it is a symbol of purity. Since the times of ancient Egypt, it was venerated because it blossomed after the floods of the Nile and for this reason it was considered a symbol of rebirth. Around it, there are the flames of candles, symbol of light, hope and spiritual life. Among the flames, the phases of the moon, closely linked to the cycles of female life. Moreover, the colours of the rainbow represent all the rainbows drawn by the Italian children during the disease as a symbol of hope. This wrap indeed wants to be a message of hope. For this reason, the 40% of the proceeds from the sale of products will be donated to the Italian Red Cross, in order to help the Italian hospitals.
