Lenny is sewing face masks!

Post

Masks...

This word, next to coronavirus, has been probably the most common in the world in the recent weeks ... No wonder. The situation of such a sudden and enormous demand for any protective measures has surprised absolutely everyone. The terrible shortage of such products and the huge demand made us decide to use our capabilities to produce face masks. It turned out that our sewing plant had to be used differently than before until the supply chains were able to meet these most urgent needs. At a time when the shortage of protective equipment bothers everyone, we are trying to do our best... So we are sewing the masks - you can find them HERE !

Our face masks are made of fabric which has been created in our weaving studio - right in the heart of Poland - for years. It’s a colorful cotton of high quality confirmed by numerous certificates - besides it is perfect for babywearing (see here).

We also used our bamboo fabric which is also great for swaddles and muslin squares.

We devoted some colors for the production of the masks - they have been coated with silver ions, which have antibacterial and antiviral properties.

...and there's plenty of fabric here. If you also want to sew such masks, you can find our fabrics' scraps useful - see HERE :) How to sew such a mask? You will find the tutorial HERE.

And how to handle such a mask? What's very important is the way you take it off. Such guidelines can be found on the WHO website:

  • Before putting on a mask, clean hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.

  • Cover mouth and nose with mask and make sure there are no gaps between your face and the mask.

  • Avoid touching the mask while using it; if you do, clean your hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.

  • Replace the mask with a new one as soon as it is damp and do not re-use single-use masks.

  • To remove the mask: remove it from behind (do not touch the front of mask); discard immediately in a closed bin; clean hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.

Please remember that our masks are reusable and washable so DO NOT dispose of them!

Once you take off the mask in a presented way we suggest you put it into a plastic bag and follow these steps:

  1. Put it into boiling water and leave for 30 minutes.
